Get Ready for the 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship

The 2024 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is set to take place in Czechia from May 10th to 26th. The tournament will see 16 teams competing for the title, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the Championship Round.

Preliminary Round

The 16 teams will be divided into two groups for the Preliminary Round, with each group playing a single round-robin format. The top four teams from each group will advance to the Championship Round, while the bottom two teams from each group will be relegated to Division I Group A for 2025.

Championship Round

The eight teams that advance to the Championship Round will be placed into two groups of four teams each. The top two teams from each group will then advance to the semifinals, with the winners of the semifinals facing off in the gold medal game.
